JOAN'S ON THIRD :: STUDIO CITY

Good morning and happy Friday, Everyone! I just wanted to say a quick hello and share a few images from last Wednesday. As you can see, I've been reunited with my favorite partner in crime, Sydne from SydneStyle:) We've been so busy lately, we haven't really had a chance to catch up in a while, so this lunch was well overdue! Anyway, we ended up going to this cute little place in Studio City, which is definitely among my favorite restaurants as of lately! I don't know what it is, but I've developed a massive obsession with salads and soups and they offer an abundance of options in both! Seriously, if you love salads, you have to try their Chinese Chicken Salad, it is seriously one of the best I've ever tried!

LITTLE BLACK SHIRTDRESS

I've always been a fan of shirtdresses. There is a certain kind of ease and nonchalant coolness about them. Comfortable and stylish, to me, shirts dresses are a must-have Summer staple to wear day or night. Found this particular one on a recent trip to Banana Republic and fell in love with it the moment I saw it! Aside from the fact that I cannot resist a dress with pockets no matter how hard I try, this one has quite a bit of those special details I always look for. I mean how cute are those ruffle sleeves with tie details! I also love the unexpected color! Most shirtdresses I came across are white. Now, don't get me wrong, I love white dresses but in this particular case, I feel black makes this dress just a tad cooler and edgier, and possibly more appropriate for night:) What do you guys think?

ORANGE FLAIR

Good morning, everyone! Hope you are enjoying your Saturday! Yesterday, we had one of those dark, rainy days, when everything looks a bit grey and you can't help but feel a little blue... So, I decided to combat the feelings of gloom and doom by wearing the brightest trench coat I current own. Cause you know, in my book, bright colors are a cure for everything... :) Well, my plan certainly worked!

Emil and I actually ended up having a great time wondering about Beverly Hills, doing a little shopping and dining. Though, I fully admit shopping could have played a small part in elevating my mood, I am convinced it was mostly the bright orange trench coat:)  That and my new sunnies of course! Completely redundant on a day like yesterday, they are brand new and I simply couldn't wait to wear them. Plus, I think they look lovely with the coat and bag. How do you guys chase away the blues on dark and rainy days?

HELLO 2014 + ORANGE CRUSH

Happy New Year, Everyone! May 2014 bring you all the health, happiness and hope, and may this year be the one in which all your wishes come true! Since the past few weeks have been kind of hectic, Emil and I took a mini vacation and spent New Year's in Cambria on the Moonstone beach. We ended up having a time of our life walking around, drinking a ton of hot cocoa, exploring the beautiful Hearst castle, dining out and just relaxing, doing a whole bunch of nothing.

As we we rang in the New Year on the beach, our champaign glasses in hand, looking at the amazing starlit sky and the Pacific ocean, we made a pact to turn this into a yearly tradition. How about you guys, what is your perfect idea of New Year's celebration?
