VIVALUXURY x MEJURI JEWELRY COLLECTION

They say every great dream begins with a dreamer... Those of you who've been with me from the very beginning, probably know that aside from starting VivaLuxury, my greatest dream in life was to design a jewelry collection. Well, I can hardly believe it but my dream has come true and it is with great joy I am excited to unveil my Capsule Collection for Mejuri jewelry. 

My relationship with Mejuri began over year ago with a short little email. Of course, at that time I couldn't possibly imagine what a profound effect an email could have on my life. At that time, all I knew was that I felt an immediate connection to Mejuri jewelry and the company esthetic in general. Over time, as our relationship progressed, we've come to realize that not only was our esthetic incredibly similar, we also shared a passion for jewelry and design and so, we began thinking about collaborating in a more profound way and a capsule collection just felt like a great pace to start.

When I began thinking about what I wanted this collection to be, I realized that for me, design is incredibly personal. And so, I felt it was very important to create a collection that truly reflected my personality, style and esthetic. In the end, the idea that inspired this collection the most, was a certain duality that is inherent in my personal style. On one hand, I love elegance and femininity, on the other, I am equally attracted to sharp, clean and slightly edgy silhouettes. To capture these seemingly opposite aspects of my sartorial personality, I decided to combine classically elegant pearls with modern, edgy, geometric settings. Something else that was incredibly important to me when it came to this collection was quality. Both Mejuri and I believe in the importance of combining unique and creative deigns with lasting materials, which is why all of the pieces in this collection are made from precious materials like vermeil on sterling silver, fresh water cultured pearls and cubic zirconia stones.

We spent the next few months working closely together to design a unique and creative collection, the hardest part of which was not being able to share every little detail with you guys:) The end result was a collection of 7 pieces designed to be worn layered or separately, day or night.

The experience of working with Mejuri on this collection was absolutely incredible and the feeling of seeing your ides come to life just indescribable! Honestly, I still have to pinch myself overtime I look at the collection because I am so happy with the way it turned out. My only hope is that you guys love it as much as I do... :)

DESERT LIGHTS

You know my motto when it comes to jewelry, the more the merrier! I can't help it, I am borderline obsessed with armparties. Usually, I start with a bracelet or two and maybe a ring and keep piling on until it feels like I can't add anymore:) My hubby even coined a term for this, he jokingly calls it my "like you robbed a jewelry store" look. Normally, I just smirk and roll my eyes when he says this, but from time to time, when I for some reason feel the need to justify my style-related decisions, I try to explain that layering jewelry is a girl thing, and that's the way it looks best:) He responds by nodding and pretending to agree with me, though secretly I suspect he actually does, but just enjoys making fun of me. Evidence to support my suspicions? Well, it's plain as day... layering is the only way to wear jewelry! Right?:)

DETAIL ORIENTED

I guess you can call me detail oriented because I firmly believe accessories make or break an outfit and transform the look and feel of an outfit like nothing else. Take today's dress for example, or cover up if you will,  ( though I honestly think it works as a dress just as well ). Paired with cute flip-flops and a beach tote, it is a perfect day-at-the-beach option, of course I wanted to wear it in the city. So, to dress it up a bit, I opted for a pair of high-heel ankle-wrap sandals, a cute cross-body and lots and lots of layered jewelry. 

Since no one was pointing fingers and asking why I was wearing a beach cover up in the middle of the city, I'd say my mission to transform it into a dress was quite successful :) What do you guys think?

NEW IN: MICHAEL KORS GREENWICH SATCHEL

Just couldn't resist the urge to share a few things that are making me very happy at the moment! By  a few things I am of course referring to bags, shoes and jewelry, but you already knew that, given my profound accessory obsession:) 

The thing that is not making me very happy at the moment is the weather. Yes, I know, considering that February in California tends to be warmer than pretty much everywhere else, I can hardly complain. And yet, .... here I am complaining:) After freezing in New York, I was kinda hoping LA would greet me with some warmth and sunshine, but instead it's been gloomy, rainy and cold. Essentially, we've been enjoying the kind of weather that in no way signifies that Spring is around the corner and I am oh so very ready for Spring! 

So, in an effort to chase away my February blues, I've been indulging in some serious Spring shopping and I have to say that the results have been most satisfying:)

This year, my Spring shopping started with an item that is always at the top of my Spring/Summer must have list, i.e. the white bag. Aside from color, what attracted me to this MICHAEL by Michael Kors Greenwich satchel is the contrast black interior and of course the shape! I love structured bags, but when they also happen to be a perfect combination of polish and laid back ease, I find them completely irresistible! In fact, I find them so irresistible, I am considering getting another one, since it comes in a few different colors... The only problem is that I can't decide between the raspberry and blue. What do you guys think? Raspberry, blue or both? :)

Good morning, Everyone! How is your week going so far?

I wanted to take this opportunity to share a few images of what is possibly my most favorite piece of jewelry of all time, i.e. the out-of-this-world amazing DYLANLEX Falkor necklace! 

It arrived last week, and as soon as I got it, I started roaming through my closet trying to find something absolutely perfect to pair it with only to realize that it really didn't matter what I wore, the necklace made any outfit look spectacular! Chic, edgy and oh-so-very-modern, I still marvel at it's ability to transform a basic tee and jean look into something entirely sophisticated and polished! Oh, and how I love the way it pairs with crisp button downs and leather jackets, in fact, I have a feeling thanks to this marvel-of-a-necklace that'll be my new uniform from now on! PRETTY PEARLS

Good morning, Everyone! Hope your enjoying your weekend so far!

I just wanted to say a quick hello and share a few images of my new pearl pieces from Gold Philosophy. I've always been a big fan of pearls, but lately seeing pearl jewelry take on a slightly edgier look just makes it that much more appealing for me. The main reason I am completely obsessed with the pieces I am wearing in today's post is because I feel they are feminine and glamorous yet edgy, modern and slightly rebellious at the same time. Yet another reason I love them so much is because I am such a big fan of layering jewelry and these particular pieces look great worn separately or combined together for a more dramatic look. And I don't know about you guys, but when it comes to jewelry, dramatic always wins in my book:)!

SUMMER SOIREE

Good morning, everyone! How is your week going so far? Last week Emil and I spent a few very relaxing days in Palm Springs. While we were there, we decided to host a little dinner party for our family and friends. The house we were staying in, had one of those amazing backyards with a pool, a fire pit and a sitting area, basically an absolutely ideal location to throw a little Summer soiree:)! Of course, I'll take any excuse to plan a dinner party because I am completely obsessed with decorating, and table decor in particular! 

Because I feel that a dinner table is the heart of any party and is likely to set the mood for the entire event, when planning how to decorate it, I start by thinking about the setting and the color palette. You see, I think it's really important to have balance and harmony between the table and the surroundings. For this particular event, I chose to stick with the same color palette for the table as the rest of the backyard, combining white, sand and orange. Once I chose the color palette, I started setting the table. Usually, I like to start with place settings first, then do the center decorative part. I think that place settings are the fundament of the table, once they are complete, it is easy to see what is missing and what needs to be added to make the table more festive. For me, decorating the center of the table is all about combining deferent textures and unexpected elements. For this particular table, I combined Moroccan-inspired lanterns, silver candleholders, mint julep cups and an oversized pitcher, which I used as a vase. 

The final finishing touch - personal menus and place cards. I feel that little details like that make a table look extra special. Rather than having them printed, I actually prefer to design my own. Aside from the fact that I really enjoy the actual process of designing them (playing with different colors and fonts is completely addictive), it's much more convenient, especially if you like to throw dinner parties last minute, which Emil and I certainly do:) So, I always keep a few different menu designs in PDF format on my phone, which allows me to quickly change the menu items and print them directly from my phone on my Canon PIXMA MG7120 Wireless Inkjet All-in-one printer using the PPS app. In case you are just as obsessed with creating personalized menus, place cards or thank you notes, the PPS app is the best thing ever because it allows you to print from your phone directly to your PIXMA MG7120 printer from absolutely anywhere. How cool is that!? Another reason why Emil and I really like the PPS app is that you can print pics directly from social platforms like Facebook and Twitter or storage sites like Dropbox or Picasa, which comes in handy when we set up selfie photo booth at parties and want to print pics right away! Honestly, the process is so easy: download the PPS app through iTunes on your mobile device, choose an image or document from your preferred platform, print wirelessly, & voila your print is waiting for you at home!
