MELLOW YELLOW

There are very few places that make me feel the way I do in Palm Springs. I don't know what it is, the sun, the endless dips in the pool or the cooling drinks with little umbrellas in them, but honestly, Palm Springs is the place where I feel completely relaxed and at peace... Since Emil and I share this obsession, we like to get away to Palm Springs every chance we get and spend a few days in nothing other than our swim suits, soaking up the sun and working on our tans:)

Though we've stayed at a few different places in Palm Springs, Viceroy, sorry Avalon ( still can't get used to the name change ) is our absolute favorite. Aside from the beautiful property, I think what we like the most about Avalon is the pool area, and since that's where we spend the majority of our time, it's important:) The salt water pool, cute sunny yellow umbrellas and comfy loungers, which incidentally match my new bikini perfectly, and lots and lots of pretty greenery around, I mean what else can a person ask for? :)

Talking about my new bikini, I've been looking for a reversible suit for some time now, and this pretty sunny-yellow number from Via Delle Perle immediately caught my eye. I love yellow bikinis, I think they are classic and look so great on tan skin. But what I like about this particular one is the fact that it reverses to a pretty floral print, so you basically get two swimsuits in one:) I also got a matching Via Delle Perle coverup jacket complete with a hood, sheer sleeves and pockets, basically all those little details I appreciate so much! Wise decision on getting that jacket, by the way! Cause we get so lazy in Palm Springs I don't even bother changing for dinner, normally I throw something over my bikini and off we go and this coverup jacket paired with denim shorts looked super cute!

COACHELLA 2015 FAVORITES

COLD SHOULDER IN PALM SPRINGS

I think I've developed a new obsession... obsession with off-the-shoulder dresses that is. My preoccupation with dresses in general is nothing new, you know me, I love a good flirty frock but thanks to this season's emphasis on exposed shoulder, this preoccupation reached a whole new level. Seriously, the way I feel now, I could easily wear off-the-shoulder dresses everyday for the rest of the summer and be quite happy about that. Of course based on the number of of-the-shoulder dresses which are now part of my closet, the possibility of this actually happening is very, very real :)

PALM SPRINGS IN PINK

Though normally I associate Palm Springs with blazing heat, palm trees and unreasonably long dips in the pool, turns out Palm Springs has a lot to offer even if the temperatures are nowhere near what I would normally consider hot or warm for that matter:) 

As I have mentioned before, most of the time our trips to Palm Springs are the most glorious examples of procrastination, where Emil and I certainly make plans to venture outside of our hotel to explore, yet somehow always end up lingering by the pool, working on our tans and sipping drinks with little umbrellas in them. Both of us, I think at some point accepted the fact that these trips are not exactly productive or active, and allowed ourselves this time to be a bit lazy. Yet, I've always wanted to see more of Palm Springs.

Well, I certainly got my wish this time:)! Though, I have to admit that initially the cooler weather put a bit of damper on my mood, I soon discovered its full benefits. We were finally able to walk around Palm Springs, something we would never dare to do in the warmer months. Have breakfast, lunch and dinner outside without worrying about melting and take pictures of our adventures throughout the day while my hair and make up remained more or less in tact, which is, trust me, a big deal because normally my make up starts running down my face within 15 minutes and hair... well let's just say no amount of product can combat that frizzy mess.

PALM LEAF PRINT IN PALM SPRINGS

Good morning, Everyone! How is your week going so far? I just wanted to say hello and share a few images from our recent trip to Palm Springs. As I have mentioned before Emil and I are seriously addicted to the lounging-by-the-pool, working-on-our-tans thing, so we are always happy when we manage to carve out some time to get away. Though we've been to Palm Springs a few times before, normally we find it increasingly difficult to go anywhere outside of our hotel.

Yeah, I know! Of course by difficult I mean that we get super lazy, since we tend to visit when it's really hot and an ice-cold drink, followed by a dip in the pool is the best way to stay cool. But not this time! This time we actually managed to leave our hotel to go exploring a bit around Palm Canyon drive. We had dinner at Matchbox, followed by a bit of walking and shopping and some delicious frozen yogurt, which another serious addiction of mine:) Now that we are back in LA, we just can't help but plan another visit in the next few weeks or so, though personally I wouldn't mind being back there tomorrow:)
