Mellow Yellow, a Day with My Family:)

I wanted to introduce you guys to my wonderful family. As I told you before my mom and brother came for a visit from Canada, so here are some pictures from out trip to the beautiful Getty Villa in Malibu. 

Biggest surprise was when I saw my little brother, he is only 16 and already over 6ft tall. I guess he is not so little anymore:) Do you guys think we look alike? What about my mom and I? 

Five years ago I lost my dad to cancer and we made it through that difficult time by loving and supporting each other. I contemplated whether I should talk about my father on this blog but decided that what happened to him is a big part of who I am today. I realized how important family is and also how important it is to cherish every single day we have together. 

So, I hope you remember to enjoy every single minute of every single day.

Relax, Take it Easy...

Hello Everyone,

I would like to apologize for a week-long silence. I've been a little more busy than usual, good busy, that is:)

I celebrated my birthday, my family came for a visit from Canada and Emil and I moved out to Malibu for a few weeks because it's been so hot in LA. Once we settled in I realized that the internet connection  is absolutely abysmal, last night I spend 15 minutes trying to log into my mail box. Ah, I was cursing like a drunken sailor. But all is good now! 

It took us only a few days to become complete beach bums, I don't think I left the house once in anything other than a bathing suit and a cover up since we moved out here. Ah, and of course I wanted you to meet our little friend Walter. Isn't he cute! He is our neighbor's dog but he is lucky enough to run free on the beach all day long:) So, as of lately he's become our constant companion.

Stairway to Heaven

I would like to introduce to you my new obsession. These Topshop wedges arrived last week and I've been wearing them every days since. I love wedges, they are, I think a more comfortable alternative to a heel. But when you combine comfort and color like this, I think it's just magic. I even got a visible grin of approval from Emil, and he cares very little about shoes:) Well, maybe he does, but mostly when I buy yet another pair and he starts complaining about the lack of room in our closet... Who cares about clutter when there are so my gorgeous shoes out there?

Ah, but I have very exciting news! I think I mentioned before that my family lives in Canada and I only get to see them once a year. Well, they are here!!!! Their plane was late by 5 hours and for what seemed like an eternity I thought the flight might be cancelled altogether. But alas, they made it.  I cried like a little girl when I saw them, but then I always do:) I will take a lot of pictures so that you can meet everyone!

See My True Colors...

There is a little place right by my house I simply adore. Cute little vintage shops, family-owned restaurants and cafes, nestled closely together, make for a fine Sunday morning outing. Emil and I love to go there for breakfast. We happen to be one of those couples who are very loyal to things we love, so we always have the same breakfast. Turkey panini, freshly-squeezed orange juice, blueberry muffins and the best cup of coffee in town. And you know what, it never gets old, it is just as good as the first time we tried it. Whenever we travel and I start missing home our little Sundays breakfasts are among the first things that come to mind... After breakfast, much to Emil's distress I like to do a little shopping! Yeah, he is not excited by vintage jewelry or 100-year-old table linens but he does have impeccable taste and I often rely on his opinion:) Last time we bought an amazing set of vintage books, based of course, in his recommendation.
