SUNSET BLUE

I've been feeling a little blue lately, all this talk about changing of the seasons and leafs turning colors... Makes me a little home sick. Back in Canada, where I grew up, fall is the most wonderful time of the year, leaf colors ranging from magenta to scarlet to orange to brilliant yellow. I think I miss the smell of fall the most... What do you love about fall the most?

So, this Sunday, hoping to chase of the blues, Emil and I went to our favorite beach bar, the Moon Shadows. Situated right on the water front, it has cute little lounging couches, lovely music, great cocktails and appetizers. This place never fails to get my mood up. We took these pics right before, of course I got pretty cold an hour later, and had to borrow Emil sweater. Note to self, short shorts and oversized boyfriend sweaters are not a good mix. Imagine a muumuu and high heels, yes, I was a sight for a sore eyes:)

OLIVE GARDEN

I spend some time looking for a perfect pair of cropped cuffed pants. I saw these on Lulus.com and really loved the fit and color. I think olive is fabulous for fall, although it still feels like summer in LA. This week was so hot, I felt like my brain is melting. My poor Emil has been suffering all week long. Most of the times our comfortable temperatures are about 10 degrees apart, if the weather is right for him, I am freezing my butt off. Well, this week I was pretty hot, so you can imagine what it was like for him. I know, I suck for complaining about warm weather, but hey, I have new sweaters and coats! It's a tragedy when new things just sit in your closet:)

BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY

My go to outfit for some down time in LA. This Sunday Emil and I finally carved out some time to catch up with our friends and just chill... If you live in LA or maybe plan to visit you have to go to Urth Cafe in Santa Monica, best coffee and deserts in town, I promise:) Emil and I had two cherry pies each, sadly no regrets... You have to live it up sometimes:)

The feathered earings are actuallly a little DIY project, I got a pair of really cute Koolaburra flats from StefaniBags.com this summer. Well, long story short, the flats have little feather embelishmantes on the side which are completely removable so you can use them for anything. I took them off, and voila, a cute pair of earrings!  I am thinking of using them as a necklace next.

P.S. I look a little mad in these picks, well, I am not, the sun was in my face most of the time. I will show my usual  grin next time:)

Yet another gorgeous find from Lulus.com. I fell in love with this dress from the moment I saw it. You know how much I love bright colors and pleating... Great for summer, I think this dress will be perfect for fall too, paired with a wool coat, perhaps in camel. What do you guys think?

If you follow my blog regularly, you know what a big fan I am of Lulus.com. I like the fact that they constantly get new things in, the selection is always amazing and prices are great. So, last week I noticed  these shorts and just couldn't resist the urge. I mean, I never had a pair of gold shorts before but what a fabulous little item to have in your closet. Once I put them on, they literally transformed my lazy little Sunday afternoon into a fun night out. Emil called me "Fancy Pants" the entire day, oh well Miss Fancy Pants had a fabulous time and got a compliment from the bartender. And I know, I know, she may have been bias, but I choose to believe she really did like my shorts:)
